INFO:

These body polishes were crafted out of a personal necessity to not only help slough off dead skin, but to also smooth bumps caused by folliculitis or keratosis pilaris (KP), moisturize itchy, scaly, dry skin associated with psoriasis & eczema, and alleviate other skin problems inflicted by autoimmune disorders like rheumatism & arthritis. This formula is a true magical healer. Nothing else I ever tried worked. After just one treatment with this body polish, you will notice unbelievable results.

Below I’ve listed the full ingredient list of these powerhouse body polishes and the benefits of each component. I put my heart into researching a natural way to truly heal your skin, and would never even consider putting a product out on the market that didn’t actually work. Those of us with skin problems have suffered enough! Each individual ingredient in these polishes will work their own brand of magic on your skin to create a compound result that will leave you smooth, supple, and glowing!

*If you have an allergy to any one of these specific ingredients, but love everything else on the list and still want to try these products… Please, don’t hesitate to contact me directly and I will personally make you a special order!

*Exfoliation can create inflammation when done too often. Use these body polishes no more than twice a week. I recommend using the Jungle Kitty Skin Quench to upkeep your healthy, moisturized skin in-between exfoliations.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Make sure you mix up the contents of the jar using the spoon or your fingers before using it for the first time. For best results, use directly after a bath or shower. It gets messy! After you’re all clean, stay in your bathing receptacle & using your hands, rub the polish all over your skin, avoiding your face, eyes & mouth.

  2. Use a circular motion & a pressure of your comfort level. Once finished scrubbing, gently rinse with warm water until all granules are removed from the surface of your skin. Be careful not to rinse too much or use soap to remove, or else you’ll risk losing the benefits of the moisturization and healing properties you’ll get from the natural oils. Gently pat yourself down with a towel to dry off. A thin residue of oil will remain on your skin. Don’t worry, it will all soon soak in & you will be left supple and glowing! This product will not stain clothing.

  3. Due to the natural properties of the coconut and castor oils, the polish may solidify in colder temperatures. To solve this, place the closed jar in a tub of hot water (never boiling) and within minutes it will be ready to use. Do not microwave!

  4. These natural oils have a shelf life of 1-2 years. So chances are, you’ll have used it all before it ever goes bad!

*This product is composed of 100% natural oils, completely free of phthlalates, parabens, SLS & SLES, silicones and preservatives.

THE healing scrubber COMPONENTS:

dead SEA SALT

While living in Mexico, I noticed that after soaking in the salty ocean water, my skin would heal much faster from any scrapes, bites or bruises. But even more exciting, it was smoother! This led me to try putting sea salt in a homemade body scrub as it was not only nourishing with minerals, but also abrasive enough for exfoliation. Exfoliation is a necessary act of love for our skin because it not only gets rid of dead skin buildup, but it increases blood circulation which boosts collagen production, fending off signs of premature aging like saggy skin and wrinkles.

Here is what my research shows.

  • Unrefined sea salt nourishes the skin with minerals and helps restore hydration, making it beneficial for skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

  • Improves skin barrier function, and reduces inflammation in atopic dry skin.

  • Bathing in sea salt and allowing it to absorb into your skin allows you to benefit from its rich magnesium content, which not only helps heal angry skin, it aids in relaxation of sore muscles and body aches.

  • Balances skin by helping regulate its natural oil production without causing over-drying.

  • Cleanses and fights acne-causing bacteria naturally.

PINK HIMALAYAN SALT

I had touched on the salt from the sea, but what about salt from the earth? It was bound to have an entirely different roster of beneficial properties. I was right!

  • This salt is formed naturally in the earth and contains all essential 84 trace elements required by the body, giving it the highest mineral content of all the salts.

  • Helps relieve muscle cramps and facilitates an optimal pH in your cells.

  • Himalayan salt helps restore deep hydration and nourish your skin’s thirst for magnesium & iron.

  • Himalayan salt is widely praised for its alleviating benefits for people suffering from eczema and psoriasis. It is hydrating, mineral-rich, and anti-inflammatory.

  • Helps with insect bites, sunburns, rashes, and general irritation or dryness.

PURE CANE SUGAR

Imagine using sandpaper to get a desired effect on a wood project. If our “sandpaper” is our exfoliant, now imagine salt, sugar, and coffee grounds to be different sizes of grit. This was my thought process when assembling the scrubbing components. Sugar is a bit smaller size grit than salt, and coffee finer than sugar. Together they work to get all the dead skin off and leave you completely polished.

  • Sugar cane is a rich form of sucrose, which works as a humectant and draws moisture into the skin.

  • Works as an antiseptic and natural exfoliant, smoothing and brightening the skin’s appearance.

  • It is a rich source of naturally derived Alpha Hydroxy Acids, like glycolic acid, which helps in cell turnover/regeneration.

  • Gentle on the skin, making it ideal for sensitive skin types.

100% ARABICA COFFEE

Coffee not only works as the finest grit polish in the compound, did you know its caffeine content is beneficial to your skin?

  • Free radicals are naturally produced by our bodies in order to fight microbial infections and help heal skin, but an excess of them causes skin damage by resulting in a process called oxidative stress, which causes aging. The abundance of antioxidants found in coffee neutralize this abundance of free radicals.

  • Caffeine increases blood flow by dilating the blood vessels, reducing fluid accumulation and smoothing cellulite.

  • Acidic in nature, coffee helps shed dead skin cells and boost our body’s natural production of collagen.

  • Coffee has anti-inflammatory properties, making it a soothing agent & great for sensitive skin. It helps repair sun damage, reduces the appearance of sunspots, redness & irritation.

  • Caffeine helps protect skin cells from harmful UVB rays and contains Vitamin B3, which inhibits the growth of cancerous cells.

  • Cleans debris from pores and gives your skin a shot of anti-inflammatory treatment, reducing redness and inflammation.

  • Helps your pores look smaller by clearing them of buildup and controlling the excess production of sebum in our skin.

THE HEALING HYDRATING COMPONENTS:

CASTOR OIL

Castor is the anti-problematic oil! It has anti-inflammatory & antibacterial properties as well as antioxidants that create a trifecta of protection that not only combats our bodies’ harsh internal environments and skin/pore infections, but helps heal existing inflammation in the skin which is the cause of swelling, redness, flakiness, itchiness, etc.

  • With its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, it helps speed up the process of healing wounds and infections in our pores.

  • Works great to minimize razor burn and ingrown hairs! Helps prevent infection (ingrowns) while its ricinoleic acid reduces inflammation (razor burn).

  • The ricinoleic acid content is an analgesic agent (numbing, pain reliever) that works as an anti-inflammatory and not only helps cure our inflamed skin, it also helps to alleviate arthritic joint pain, sore muscles, menstrual pain, and inflammation of our nerves.

  • Contains triglycerides that help maintain moisture in the skin. It works as a humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the surrounding air into the skin, keeping it hydrated. These triglycerides are also helpful in removing dirt from the skin.

  • Draws out dirt, dead skin cells, excess oils and bacteria without drying out your skin like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

  • Known as one of the best treatments in minimizing appearance of stretch marks and scars due to its rich content of fatty acids.

  • Its emollient properties allow it to penetrate and be easily absorbed deep into your skin, stimulating the production of elastin and collagen which in turn plump your skin and increase elasticity.

  • Helps the body produce the proper levels of lymphocytes – a type of white blood cell found in our immune systems that attack bacteria & toxins. These little fighter cells are then released into the lymphatic tissue from our lymph nodes, thymus gland and tissue from the small intestine. This helps improve our immune system functions such as lymphatic drainage, thymus gland health and blood flow. Apply this oil to the inside of your bellybutton and your lymph nodes to increase your body’s absorption of the oil and maximize your benefits from this process.

  • Contains undecylenic acid which is an antifungal agent that kills ringworm, athlete’s foot, and yeast infections.

COCONUT OIL

Coconut oil smells heavenly and is anti-aging with its bounty of antioxidants. It, like the other oils, is readily absorbed into your skin while at the same time creates a protective barrier on the surface, locking in moisture & keeping out the harmful environmental stressors.

  • Has a natural SPF of 7, helping keep you protected even if you happen to forget your sunscreen!

  • Composed of a unique combo of natural fats: Linoleic acid, which fortifies the skin’s barrier, protecting it from free radicals like UV rays and air pollutants, and unclogs pores by pulling out dirt and dead skin cells. The other is lauric acid, up to 50%, which is hydrating and microbial. This combo reduces the growth of bacteria under the skin’s surface.

  • Its antimicrobial properties help kill bacteria on the skin that causes body odor.

  • In an 8-week study, the use of coconut oil on dry skin notably reduced transepidermal water loss (moisture escaping from the layers of your skin) and outperformed mineral oil, which is a favored ingredient for skin hydration by board-certified dermatologists.

  • Strengthens the skin barrier, which is particularly beneficial for people who struggle with eczema or very dry skin.

  • Reduces inflammation and soothes skin, making it a wonderful healer for burn wounds or other wounds that will likely produce scars.

JOJOBA OIL

Jojoba oil is technically not an oil, it is a wax ester on a molecular level that mimics natural human sebum in the skin. It is safe for daily use and seals in moisture without causing acne or clogging your pores.

  • Full of fatty acids that help reduce inflammation in the skin.

  • Its Vitamin E content helps speed up cell rejuvenation, which helps heal any existing skin ailments, sunburns, reduce appearance of scars, and also works as an anti-aging ingredient.

  • Because of its likeliness to our natural sebum that our bodies produce, it deeply penetrates the skin very quickly and will not leave a greasy residue.

  • Mimicking your skin’s natural oils, jojoba oil helps regulate any excess or insufficiency of your skin’s natural oil production, easing acne & balancing your skin. This makes it great for all skin types.

  • Vitamins A, B & E, omega-3 fatty acids, copper, zinc, chromium and flavonoids all work together to help protect the skin from effects of oxidative stress and sun damage.

  • Rich in antioxidants, it is believed to encourage collagen synthesis – a natural process that keeps us supple when we’re young and slows way down as we age.

  • Because it is wax, it not only penetrates & moisturizes, but it seals that moisture in and protects the skin’s barrier from free radicals in the air.

  • Contains naturally occurring docasonol, an active ingredient that is found in over-the-counter cold sore creams.

  • Use it before and after shaving to help minimize razor burn.

SWEET ALMOND OIL

Almond oil has a history for being a staple ingredient in rejuvenation of health for both skin and hair. There are ancient spiritual teachings in almost every religion of almonds being a sacred anointing that nourishes and protects our inner and outer being.

  • Natural almond oil is chock full of Vitamin A, which is important for encouraging cell growth, which in turn heals skin ailments and reduces the appearance of aging & assists to fade scars. Vitamin A is also used to treat acne.

  • The molecular structure and high concentration of monounsaturated fatty acids allow it to penetrate deeply into the skin, delivering vital nutrients (Vitamin A & E, magnesium & Omega 3 fatty acids) and giving you supple hydration and skin barrier protection.

  • Loaded with biotins, when rubbed into the skin it boosts blood flow, encouraging cell rejuvenation which in turn helps heal any skin problems caused by autoimmune disorders.

  • Excellent at purging the skin of toxins, opening up pores for effective cleansing, and retaining moisture that blocks the entry of dirty microbes.

  • Tightens skin to reduce sagging, crepey skin and fine lines.
